Cookie Policy

1. About this policy
This policy explains how Scotflix uses cookies and similar technologies, and what choices you have.
Scotflix is operated by Firewalker Pictures Limited, a company registered in Scotland under company number SC763880, whose registered office is at 25 Valleybank, Kilsyth, Glasgow, Scotland, G65 0RH.
For how we handle personal information more generally, please read our Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device so it can recognise that device on later visits or as you move between pages. Websites also use similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.
3. The cookies we use
Scotflix only uses cookies that are essential to running the site. These are needed to deliver the service you have asked for, so we do not need your consent to set them.
Purpose | What it does | Type |
Authentication | Keeps you signed in and secures your session | Essential |
Checkout | Carries your order through payment and back to the site | Essential |
Playback | Remembers your place in a film, and your volume, quality and subtitle settings | Essential |
Security and fraud prevention | Detects suspicious sign-in attempts and protects against automated abuse | Essential |
Territory | Remembers the region we have determined you are in, so we show titles we are licensed to show you | Essential |
Load balancing | Keeps the site and video delivery working reliably | Essential |
Some of these are session cookies, which disappear when you close your browser. Others last longer so you are not signed out every visit. [OPTIONAL: add retention periods per cookie if you want a fuller table.]
4. Analytics without cookies
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is being used.
Plausible does not use cookies. It does not store your IP address, does not create a persistent identifier for you, and does not track you across other websites. It tells us things like how many people visited a page and which titles are popular. It never tells us who you are.
Plausible processes and stores this data within the European Union.
Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, we do not need your consent for analytics.
5. What we do not use
We do not use:
advertising or retargeting cookies;
tracking pixels for advertising networks;
third-party profiling or data brokers;
social media tracking widgets.
We do not sell your data.
6. Why there is no cookie banner
You will not see a cookie consent banner on Scotflix. That is deliberate. Consent is only required for cookies that are not essential to providing the service you asked for, and we do not use any. Our analytics are cookieless.
If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie, and we will update this policy.
7. Managing cookies yourself
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you do this per site.
Please be aware that blocking essential cookies will stop parts of Scotflix from working, including signing in, checking out and playing films.
Your browser’s help pages explain how, and aboutcookies.org has general guidance.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change how we use cookies. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
